West Campus ADA Upgrades
The West Entrance to campus was identified as an area where better ADA access and student drop-off safety was necessary.
This project eliminates all stairs and ADA accessibility obstacles at the West Entrance. By removing the entry stairs from the west side of the library and the granite wall, the College will install a gradual walking path that is ADA acceptable. An upgrade to the Library Patio is included in this project and will increase access to the Library.
Construction for the exterior renovation is projected for completion in Fall 2021.

Installation of furniture approved by the College was finalized.

Past Month’s Accomplishments: Landscape irrigation restoration, site concrete, and Cedro Plaza planting were all completed.
Next Month’s Milestones: The ACI inspector survey on the flatwork installation will be completed. Lighting installation and punch list repair work will also be completed. A final cleanup will be carried out followed by demobilization.
August 2021
Past Month’s Accomplishments: 95% of site concrete was installed. Site furnishings were laid out. Salvaged granite benches were placed and installed. Landscape irrigation restoration was also completed.
Next Month’s Milestones: ACI Inspector will be onsite to survey flatwork installation. Planting inside Cedro Plaza and patch repair of the seat wall will be completed. Installation of lighting in Cedro Plaza will be completed. Box panels will be installed. Final clean up and demobilization will also be completed.
July 2021
Past Month’s Accomplishments: ADA Pathway concrete was completed with logos. Light poles were installed and tested. Site furnishings layout is underway. Granite benches were placed. Pavers and lighting and logo in roadway landscaping prep are underway. Finally, shade structures were complete and installed.
Next Month’s Milestones: Roadway concrete and parking lot striping will be finalized and completed. Cedro Plaza –logos, concrete, site furnishings, pavers and electrical- will be completed, as will the water fountain system in LETC Plaza. Finally, the site will be restored.
June 2021
Past Month’s Accomplishments: EVC Sign was installed outside LETC. Water fountain utilities were completed, and concrete was poured. Logos were prepped for lithocrete. Traffic rated and non-traffic rated bollards were installed at 90%.
Next Month’s Milestones: The remainder of the colored concrete installation will be completed. Tile around water fountain will be installed and plumbing and lighting will be tested. Installation of pavers and electrical fixtures inside LETC and Cedro Plaza will also be completed.
May 2021
Past Month’s Accomplishments: CM rejected 30% of poured Harvest Gold concrete outside of LETC plaza. Kalua was poured and pending cure time for assessment in ADA Pathway. Review of Schedule delays are underway. Impacts to Cedro Elevations based on existing conditions vs. Topo was provided by U&R. Conflict with existing water line was shown in 2016 utility map. Hot tap required at nearest hydrant. Closeout is forthcoming for this work.
Next Month’s Milestones: Installation of Lithocrete logos, pavers, Bollards, Light Poles, USA Shade Structure, remainder of Colored Concrete and Furniture.
April 2021
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Harvest Gold concrete poured in a pathway at the LETC patio. Integral colors for bands form work complete. The contractor is preparing underground utilities for lighting and plumbing related to the fountain replacement.
Next Month’s Milestones: The Bond Team expects to review a Lithocrete mock-up, EVC logo pavers, and additional integral concrete color mock-ups.

Ongoing soil compaction and installation of new drain in Cedro Plaza. Formwork

Ongoing water connection, forming, and rebar the fountain in the Library Plaza.

March 2021
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Pour concrete outside of LETC. Continuation of forming. Preparation of underground utilities – lighting and plumbing for fountain.
Next Month’s Milestones: Continue with site concrete outside LETC and Cedro Plaza. Rough-in for monument sign and shade structures. Evaluation of schedule impacts from GC.
February 2021
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Site demolition is complete. Rough grade is 95% complete. Site prep, area drains and trenching for underground are roughly 50% complete.
Next Month’s Milestones: Concrete samples for review. Underground utilities. GC to provide progress schedule update.
January 2021
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Site demolition is roughly 90% complete. Rough grade, site prep, area drains and trenching underway.
Next Month’s Milestones: Added scope per College Ground's request to remove and install seven new trees along Cedro pathway. Existing trees have fungus and is spreading into roots of neighbor tree.
December 2020
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Team held pre-construction kick off with D.L. Falk OCIP rep. GC mobilized fence on 12/1/2020. Contractor started removal of finishes identified to be salvaged and repurposed on Campus.
EVC Logo Signage: DSA provided back check comments. Disapproved revision. Now working on revision #3 with Ad Art and Perkins Eastman.
Next Month’s Milestones: Complete mobilization, utility survey, and safe off-site electrical for new work related to light poles and ground lighting.
EVC Logo Signage: Resubmit to DSA before end of year.
November 2020
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Notice to Proceed issued to DL Falk Construction. Contract value $2,344,000. This is an OCIP & PLA Project.
EVC Logo Signage: Shop drawings and Structural Calculations are with Design Architect for review.
Next Month’s Milestones: Mobilization and Kickoff Meeting to start week of 12/1/2020.
EVC Logo Signage: Submittal as a CCD to DSA for approval first week of November by Perkins Eastman.

Past Month’s Accomplishments: The project was published for a public bid. The Bond Team held a virtual, Zoom-based, mandatory bid walk. At least eight contractors are looking at the project.
