Entry Road and Parking Lots
A new gateway access to the campus is being designed off of Yerba Buena Road.
The entry road will provide a new, potentially signalized, intersection that will allow access into campus from Yerba Buena Road. The first building on the new road will be the new Student Services Complex and new parking lots. The project will also provide a new pedestrian walkway and bike path that is separated from traffic. The new parking lot will replace the storage building and archery field to include approximately the same number of spaces as lots 4 and 5. The existing lots 4 and 5 will be demolished for the new Student Services Complex.

Construction coordination between the Student Services Complex design team and the Entry Road design team was started in November.

Next Month’s Milestones: Schedule Division of the State Architect (DSA) pre-meeting. Submit soil report to California Geological Survey (CGS). Design development (DD) submittal is due in November. An expansion of the scope was approved on this project to include the left-leg of this road to help increase circulation and provide additional routes to parking lots on campus. City opinion on a signalized intersection is expected from San Jose City's Department of Transportation, possibly by early December.
